Grand Seiko 61GS Special 36000 Hi-Beat
Introduction:
61GS Special was the upgraded version of 61GS. 61GS VFA (Very Fine Adjusted) was introduced in 1970, but the price was unreachable to many customers. As a result, 61GS Special was released as a relatively affordable choice between 61GS and 61GS VFA. 61GS Special was superior to 61GS in many ways. For example, the movement was upgraded to Cal.6156A which had a higher accuracy rating. In addition, the date could be switched between Japanese Kanji and English by turning the crown. For this watch, the model number is 6156-8010, a rarer version of 61GS Special. The crystal is a faceted crystal and the material of the case is HSS (Hardened Stainless Steel). Thus, 6156-8010 was priced a bit higher than the usual 6156-8000.
