King Seiko 52KS Special Chronometer
Introduction:
The marking of "Special" on the dial has two deep meanings. One, this was the last mechanical KS produced by the Daini Factory before quartz movements completely took over the timepiece market. Two, it refers to its specially high quality in terms of watch making skills. The watchmakers thought they would not make mechanical watches anymore, so they planned to create the greatest mechanical KS that could last for decades. The automatic movement Cal.5245A is a well built caliber that has excellent accuracy and is easy to repair. It is further proved by the fact that Seiko decided to reintroduce the movement as Cal.4S15 in 1990s. The watch is secured by a rare and robust one piece case back to maximize water resistance.
