Seiko Crown Special SD Dial
Introduction:
After the birth of the first Grand Seiko model Cal.3180 in 1960, Seiko Crown Special was introduced as an affordable alternative to Grand Seiko. The original market price of Grand Seiko Cal.3180 was around JPY25,000. On the contrary, Seiko Crown Special was being sold at around JPY13,000. Despite the difference in the market price, the two watches are quite similar in terms of the style and functionality. Seiko Crown Special is powered by the movement Cal.341, which is basically the Cal.3180 used by the first Grand Seiko but without the fine accuracy adjustment. Both movements have a hacking function. It also has a SD dial, indicating the hands and the indexes are made of 18K white gold.
