Introduction:
Empire was a discontinued brand name under Seikosha (SKS) before Seiko became the signature brand name in 1923. This pocket watch was produced in 1911, before the War World 1 took place. The case is made of 18K yellow gold, a very precious material during that era. It could be imagined that the original owner was considerably wealthy and might even have significant social status. It has an extremely rare accessory, the original box in which the watch was sold together with 110 years ago. According to the writings inside the box, the watch was sold by a watch store located at Kanazawa, Japan. As an interesting fact, that particular watch store is still operating nowadays, and has become a specialized retailer of modern Grand Seiko watches.
